Sophon Saram appoints Yutthaporn Issarachai to Social Peace Promotion Committee

Sophon Saram, Speaker of the House, has announced that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yutthaporn Issarachai, a political science academic from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, has been appointed to the Social Peace Promotion Committee. This follows the enactment of the Social Peace Promotion Act of 2026.

Regarding the progress of submitting a matter to the President of the Supreme Court to establish an independent inquiry committee, Sophon addressed the investigation into the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). The inquiry concerns the NACC's decision to dismiss a case against former Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob regarding allegations of hidden shares.

Sophon stated that the committee is currently requesting information from various agencies, including both the complainants and the subjects of the case. He noted that while he is aware of the process because documents are issued in the name of Parliament, he does not interfere in the specific details and cannot yet provide a timeline for a conclusion.
