Sorae Pogu Festival to held in Incheon from October 2

The 26th Sorae Pogu Festival is scheduled to take place from October 2 to October 4 in the Sorae Pogu area of Namdong-gu, Incheon. Under the slogan ‘Play in Sorae’, the event aims to integrate the region's ecological and fishery resources with local culture and resident participation.

The festival will connect various landmarks, including Haeoreum Plaza, the Sorae History Museum, Jangdo Battery Site, Shrimp Tower, and the traditional fish market. Key highlights include a seafood cooking contest, a Sorae Sea Parade, and musical performances. Opening night will feature a performance by the rock band Crying Nut and a maritime fireworks show, while the closing ceremony will include a performance by singer Baek Ji-young.

Program offerings include K-beauty industry zones, seafood auctions, and ecological experiences such as boat fishing and tidal flat activities. To promote environmental awareness, a ‘Sorae Plogging Stamp Tour’ will be held, allowing participants to collect stamps while cleaning up the Sorae Wetland Ecological Park in exchange for discounts at the traditional fish market. The festival also emphasizes eco-friendly management through the use of multi-use containers and waste separation stations.
