Sorana Cîrstea and Gabriela Ruse draw paths at Cincinnati Open

Romanian tennis players Sorana Cîrstea and Gabriela Ruse have received their draws for the Cincinnati Open, serving as the final major preparation event before the US Open.

Gabriela Ruse (77 WTA) will begin her campaign in the first round against Poland's Magda Linette (68 WTA). Should Ruse advance, she is slated to face Alexandra Eala in the second round.

Sorana Cîrstea (18 WTA) enters the tournament directly in the second round. Her opening match will be against either Nikola Bartunkova (42 WTA) or a qualifier. If she progresses, a potential third-round matchup against Anna Kalinskaya (21 WTA) is on the cards.

The tournament features a total prize pool exceeding $7.4 million. While top seeds like Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina are competing, defending champion Iga Swiatek is not participating due to injury.
