Sorana Cîrstea announces return to tennis with Asian tournament schedule

Romanian tennis player Sorana Cîrstea is preparing to return to competition following a break caused by a calf injury. The 36-year-old has announced an intensive schedule in Asia to conclude her season.

Her comeback itinerary includes the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, scheduled for October 12–18, followed by the WTA 500 tournament in Ningbo from October 19–25. Her final stop in the region will be Tokyo, running from October 26 to November 1.

During her recovery period, Cîrstea has spent time with former world number one Ana Ivanovic. Ivanovic previously expressed interest in encouraging Cîrstea to delay her retirement from professional tennis. The two athletes were recently seen together as Cîrstea prepares for this critical stretch of the season.
