Sorgun State Hospital doubles palliative care capacity
Sorgun State Hospital in Yozgat has doubled the capacity of its Palliative Care Service to meet high regional demand. The service, which previously operated with 16 beds at a 90-95% occupancy rate, has added 16 more beds, bringing the total to 32.
Chief Physician Uz. Dr. Ümit Öztürk stated that the expansion aims to facilitate the transition of patients from intensive care to general wards and eventually to home care. The service provides multidisciplinary care for patients with chronic illnesses, those requiring post-intensive care, and those facing difficulties with home-based care, including the treatment of complications such as pressure sores.
Family members of patients at the facility have expressed satisfaction with the medical team's dedication and the quality of care provided during long-term treatments.
