Sorgun's SORFEST draws visitors from 16 Turkish cities

The annual SORFEST summer festival in Sorgun, Yozgat Province, opened with the inauguration of the Anatolian Silk Road Fair and a parade featuring a mehter band in Şakir Efendi City Square. Mayor Erkut Ekinci said the event has become a nationwide traditional festival and a recognized brand, offering children's activities, a kite‑flying fair, a fishing tournament and concerts scheduled for August 7‑9.

Organisers coordinated tour buses from sixteen different Turkish cities to bring visitors to the festival, which will run through August 20. The mayor highlighted the growing popularity of SORFEST as evidence of Sorgun’s increasing visibility across Turkey.
