Soria advances project for permanent film studio

The Provincial Council of Soria is working to establish a permanent film studio to serve as a national reference for production companies and stimulate the local economy. President Benito Serrano stated that the project has been in development for three years in collaboration with industry professionals.

A recent successful example is the filming of ‘Anochece, los últimos días con vida de Federico García Lorca’ at the Palacio de Quintana. This project, directed by Fernando Franco, mobilized 1.5 million euros and involved five companies. The Council provided a 200,000 euro subsidy for the production.

This initiative aligns with Spain's broader evolution into a major international audiovisual hub. Beyond diverse landscapes, the country is developing professional infrastructure, specialized technical teams, and logistical capabilities that allow it to compete with other major European production centers. The growth of the sector is creating a self-sustaining ecosystem of local expertise and specialized services.
