Soria and Monesterio launch summer pool seasons after upgrades

In the Spanish city of Soria, municipal pools opened for the summer following the San Juan festivities. The San Andrés sports complex began regular operations on Tuesday, with extended hours until early September, while the youth centre pool, already in use, added a seasonal children’s pool. Several other facilities remain closed for maintenance or limited to weekday hours. Prices are unchanged from the previous year, and holders of the city card can enjoy a free‑entry voucher.

In Monesterio, the municipal pool reopened on 2 July after a €530,000 renovation. The refurbishment reduced the main basin depth to 1.65 m, saving roughly 500,000 litres of water, added a ramp for people with reduced mobility, and upgraded the filtration system. The opening day offered free admission, and entry fees stay the same as before, with discounts for children, seniors, people with disabilities and large families. Both towns aim to provide modern, accessible swimming facilities for the summer season.
