Soria celebrates San Saturio festivities with diverse cultural program

The city of Soria is celebrating its San Saturio festivities with a diverse program of historical, cultural, and musical events.

Traditional elements are being highlighted, including the return of the ‘Bruja’ (Witch) figure, a popular giant and big-head character from 1971, which has been restored for the current celebrations. The festivities also feature bullfighting, with a scheduled ‘mano a mano’ novillada featuring David Espejón and Jaime de Pedro on October 4.

Musical entertainment includes the FestiHIT event at the Plaza Mayor on October 3, a free party featuring various DJs and pop hits. Historical records of the San Saturio celebrations reveal a long legacy of local customs, ranging from early 20th-century charitable bread distributions to various social and political anecdotes spanning over a century.
