Soria hosts spiritual abstraction exhibition by Dominican friar

The Círculo Amistad Numancia in Soria has inaugurated ‘Colores del Misterio’, an art exhibition by Dominican friar and artist Fray Félix Hernández OP. Held in the Gerardo Diego Hall, the exhibition is open to the public for free from September 7 to September 13.

The collection features contemporary spiritual abstraction, moving away from traditional figuration to utilize color and light contrasts as tools for meditation and introspection. Hernández, who holds a doctorate in Theology and studied Fine Arts, draws influence from the South Korean Dominican master Kim En Joong.

While his pastoral and artistic work often takes him to cities such as Rome, Seville, and Córdoba, the artist maintains a strong connection to Soria, his father's birthplace. He describes the province as a place of serenity that deeply influences his creative process.
