Aubasa implements toll evasion fines; Banco Provincia launches vehicle loans

Autopistas de Buenos Aires S. A. (Aubasa) has implemented a new sanctioning scheme for toll evasion on the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway. Starting September 15, drivers who bypass toll booths may face fines ranging from $228,100 to $684,300. These penalties are calculated based on Fixed Units (UF), with the current value set at $2,281 per unit for the September-October period.

To detect infractions, Aubasa is utilizing existing camera systems at toll stations to automatically record the date, time, location, and image of the offending vehicle. This measure stems from an agreement between the Ministry of Transport of the Province of Buenos Aires and the National Directorate of Highways to improve road safety and protect infrastructure.

Vehicle owners have a 30-day period to regularize outstanding debts and enroll in the TelePase system through the Aubasa payment portal before the formal fine is issued by the competent authority.

In separate financial news, Banco Provincia has launched the ‘Acá Tu Auto’ credit line to facilitate the purchase of new and used vehicles. The program offers financing for up to 100% of the vehicle's value, with amounts ranging from $100,000 to $50 million. Customers can choose between UVA-indexed rates starting at 6% annually or traditional fixed rates starting at 55% per year. The process is designed to be fully digital, managed through dealerships and confirmed via Cuenta DNI or Home Banking BIP.
