Spanish municipalities launch diverse community and social programs

Various municipalities across Spain are launching diverse social, sporting, and educational programs for the upcoming season.

In Sotogrande, the Fundación Navega and Puerto Sotogrande are organizing nautical activities for seniors in September. In Guadalcázar, the municipal sports season for 2026/27 begins in October, offering gymnastics and school sports. Zamora has opened registrations for municipal maintenance gymnastics through its new digital platform.

Other regional initiatives include Torrejón de Ardoz’s spa program for seniors at Cofrentes, and Vélez-Málaga’s urban garden plots for active aging. Almagro is celebrating its 40th hiking anniversary with routes across four provinces, while the Diputación de Salamanca has opened 100 spots for its autumn nature and sports program for schoolchildren.

Administrative and educational updates include Castelló’s reorganization of municipal buildings to improve citizen service, Soria’s information campaign regarding its Low Emissions Zone (BES), and Bermeo’s training course for leisure time monitors.
