Soria Mayor Javier Antón faces criticism over continuity policy
Javier Antón has surpassed 100 days in office as the Mayor of Soria, following the leadership of Carlos Martínez. Antón has adopted a policy of continuity regarding the management inherited from his predecessor.
This approach has faced criticism for maintaining previous administrative errors. The administration is currently dealing with the aftermath of a corruption investigation involving seven detainees and an 11-hour search of the City Council.
Several local projects remain stalled, including the repair of the Duero pedestrian walkway, which has been pending since October 2024. Additionally, the Fielato and Casa del Guarda remain closed, and the implementation of a Low Emission Zone has met with local opposition.
