Soria Provincial Council acquires new 6x6 snow removal truck

The Provincial Council of Soria has formalized the acquisition of a new 6x6 snow removal truck to strengthen winter road safety operations. The contract was awarded to the company Lizaga, S.A. for a total of 268,620 euros, which includes VAT, staying below the initial tender budget of 290,000 euros.

The vehicle, a MAN TGS 33.440 6x6 BB CH, is equipped with a six-cylinder diesel engine, a twelve-speed automatic gearbox, and a differential lock for adverse conditions. It features a Meiller Kipper Classic tipping box with a capacity of at least 14.5 m³, a variable-angle snowplow, and a salt spreader with a minimum 9 m³ hopper capacity.

Additional specifications include a four-year maintenance contract for lubricants and filters, a four-year warranty on the powertrain, and technical enhancements such as a heated driver's seat and stainless steel components on the salt spreader. The Provincial Road Service noted that the new equipment is essential for the rapid removal of snow and the application of melting agents across the province's road network during winter weather events.
