Soriano Departmental Board reviews public works and housing files

The Departmental Board of Soriano held several committee meetings to address local infrastructure, housing, and administrative matters.

The Public Works and Communications Commission reviewed eight files, including resident concerns regarding deteriorating sidewalks on Avenida Juan Antonio Lavalleja, high vehicle speeds in the Tomás Gómez neighborhood, and drainage issues in El Prado. Other discussions focused on road safety at the intersection of Camino Ángel Catoni and Route 14, as well as the potential for implementing clean, self-sustaining technology in public spaces.

Simultaneously, the Legislation and Petitions Commission reviewed requests from the Intendencia de Soriano regarding housing in the Palmar Residential Complex. These included proposals for 15-year bailment agreements for specific units and lease renewals. The commission also addressed property exchange requests related to changes in local road layouts and a convention for the use of property in Mercedes by the Judiciary.
