Soroca wastewater treatment plant contract signed for 11.5 million euros

A contract has been signed for the design and construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in Soroca, Moldova. The investment is valued at approximately 11.5 million euros and aims to modernize the city's sewage infrastructure.

The project is part of the ‘Water Supply and Sanitation Security in Moldova’ initiative, implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. The works will include the construction of the treatment plant, two pumping stations (Centru and Sud), and a collector to transport wastewater.

The contract was awarded to a consortium consisting of ALKE Insaat Sanayi ve Tikaret A. S. and TURMAKS Insaat Turizm Iletisim ve Bilgisayar Yayincilik Sanayi Ticaret Limited following an international tender. The broader project is supported by the International Development Association, part of the World Bank Group, through a 44.1 million euro credit.
