Sorocaba reports on Yellow September mental health campaign

The City of Sorocaba has released a report on the actions taken during the ‘Setembro Amarelo’ (Yellow September) campaign. Managed by the Mental Health Coordination and the Permanent Education Nucleus (NEP) under the Municipal Health Secretariat, the initiative focused on life valuation, mental health awareness, and strengthening the Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS).

Key activities included a training session for 70 municipal employees to improve the handling of patients in psychological distress. The campaign also featured educational workshops, conversation circles, and integrative practices such as painting and bodywork at various Basic Health Units (UBSs). Additionally, community engagement included an ecological walk with users from CAPS III ‘Alegria de Viver’ and partnerships with the Center for Valorization of Life (CVV).
