Public Ministry investigates national exam grading process

The Public Ministry has opened an inquiry into the electronic grading process of national secondary school exams following a complaint by the National Federation of Teachers (Fenprof). The investigation is being conducted by the Regional Department of Criminal Investigation and Action in Lisbon.

The inquiry follows reports of technical failures during the first year of digital grading, including delays in exam availability, digitization errors, and platform difficulties. A central concern involves allegations of missing exam sheets, which reportedly led to written instructions for teachers to grade items despite incomplete responses. Fenprof has expressed concern that teachers should not be held responsible for these systemic issues and is seeking to determine if the coordination of the process complied with legal requirements.
