Sorocaba deploys mobile Procon unit to address CPFL billing complaints
The Sorocaba City Hall has deployed the ‘Procon Móvel’ mobile unit to provide consumer services in front of the CPFL Energia agency in Vila Haro this week. The initiative follows a directive from Mayor Rodrigo Manga in response to a surge in consumer complaints regarding electricity bills and billing irregularities.
Since the beginning of 2026, Procon Sorocaba has recorded approximately 200 complaints related to CPFL. In response to these issues, Mayor Manga met with CPFL representatives to urgently request a 48-hour suspension of power disconnections for customers who have reported service interruptions or atypical consumption increases, pending investigation. The municipal administration has also suggested pausing the replacement of electricity meters in the city until the causes of reported billing changes are clarified.
