Sorocaba mayor announces upgrades to Vila Melges leisure area
Mayor Rodrigo Manga of Sorocaba detailed a series of upgrades for the Vila Melges leisure zone in the city's north zone. The improvements include an bus‑passenger shelter, a new water fountain, drainage work, repainting of the court surface, fence repairs, installation of lighting, surveillance cameras and a spectator stand. The municipal agencies Urbes – Traffic and Transport and the local water and sewage service (SaaE) are tasked to complete these works by early August, with construction slated to begin within about 40 days.
The announcements were made during the “Prefeitura de Bairro em Bairro” program, which visits neighborhoods to gather resident demands and coordinate municipal responses.
