Sorocaba inaugurates new Civil Defense base and expands social services
The City of Sorocaba has inaugurated a new Civil Defense headquarters, named ‘Andrey da Paz Marandola’, in the Alto da Boa Vista neighborhood. Developed in partnership with Construtora Planeta, the facility includes administrative rooms, an operations center with real-time city monitoring, and engineering spaces. The delivery included three new vehicles, ten chainsaws, two generators, and an operational tent to enhance emergency response capabilities.
In public transportation, the city’s Urbes service has completed two months of specialized operations. These include the ‘Linha Rosa’, an exclusive line for women driven by female drivers, and a ‘Sensory Bus’ designed for people with disabilities, specifically those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Data shows the Rosa Line transported over 29,000 women, while the Sensory Bus served over 29,000 passengers during the initial two-month period.
Additionally, the Secretariat of Entrepreneurship (SEMEPP) facilitated the participation of 80 local entrepreneurs at the SEBRAE Entrepreneur Fair 2026 in São Paulo. The initiative aimed to foster innovation and business networking through access to market trends and professional lectures.
