Sorrento-Castellammare Diocese launches pilgrimage and training projects

From 31 July to 2 August 2026 the Monte Faito summit will host the “Cammino dell’Angelo”, a three‑day pilgrimage organized by the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo, the Archdiocese of Sorrento‑Castellammare di Stabia and the municipalities of Vico Equense and Pimonte. Participants will walk the mountain trail, attend a high‑altitude discussion titled “Magnifica Humanitas: custodire la persona e le responsabilità verso la nostra terra” featuring Archbishop Francesco Alfano, engineer Giuseppe Irace, Professor Luigi Tufano and moderator Nunzia Somma, and receive a plenary indulgence for the “Perdono del Faito”. In parallel, the diocese has unveiled a new formation programme open to all faithful. The project offers three pathways: an academic degree in Religious Sciences in partnership with the Istituto Superiore di Scienze Religiose “Donna Regina” of Naples; a permanent formation track for laypeople and prospective permanent deacons; and additional pastoral training modules aimed at deepening scriptural and theological knowledge.
