Sorrento defeats Giugliano 2-0 in Serie C derby

Sorrento secured a 2-0 victory against Giugliano in the Campania derby, maintaining a perfect record with six points from three matches in Serie C Girone C. The match, held at the Stadio Alberto De Cristofaro, saw Riccardo Cargnelutti open the scoring in the 9th minute with a long-range shot.

Play was briefly interrupted for approximately fifteen minutes after referee Jules Mbei was struck in the head. Mbei was subsequently hospitalized for medical examinations.

Alessandro Bolzán doubled Sorrento's lead in the 38th minute, scoring from a central position following an assist from Luca Crecco. Despite late pressure from Giugliano, including a shot that hit the crossbar in the 84th minute, Sorrento managed the final stages of the game to secure the win. Giugliano remains at one point in the standings.
