Sorrento manages historical sites and urban maintenance

Sorrento is managing both its historical landmarks and urban maintenance challenges. The Vallone dei Mulini, a deep urban canyon located near Piazza Tasso, remains a significant historical and natural site. Formed by the erosion of the Casarlano and Sant’Antonino streams, the gorge contains ruins of a former industrial complex, including a 17th-century stone mill and a water-powered sawmill.

In the city's historic center, residents have raised concerns regarding urban decorum on Via San Cesareo. While a project to renew urban furniture is underway, the removal of old waste containers has left a gap in service between the entrance of the street and Sedil Dominova. This lack of bins has led to issues with littering by tourists, prompting calls for the timely installation of new receptacles to maintain the city's aesthetic appeal.
