Sorrento Mayor Corrado Fattorusso denounces personal attacks on his mother

Mayor Corrado Fattorusso of Sorrento announced that his 80‑year‑old mother was photographed leaving a car, with her image, the vehicle’s licence plate and personal details posted online by anonymous users. He described the act as a violation of privacy and reputation, called it “vigilantism,” and said he has hired a criminal‑law attorney to file a complaint and request video‑surveillance evidence.

Councilor Eduardo Fiorentino, speaking on behalf of fellow councilor Luciana Cafiero, expressed solidarity with the mayor, noting that he and his family have also been targets of similar anonymous attacks for years. Fiorentino urged a return to civil political debate and condemned the use of personal and family members as weapons in online harassment.
