Sorrento municipal council meets Aug 13; Ischia council meets Aug 10

The Sorrento City Council, chaired by President Raffaele Attardi, convened on 13 August 2026 to consider a 23‑item agenda. Key items included a proposal for a mechanised link between the port and Piazza Lauro, a traffic‑reorganisation motion, and approval of urgent works on a school gas line, cemetery repairs, and road safety improvements. The session also addressed budget adjustments and the settlement of court‑ordered judgments.

The Ischia City Council, led by President Gianluca Trani, met on 10 August 2026 (with a second call on 11 August if needed) to discuss three main points: safeguarding the 2026‑2028 forecast budget, recognizing off‑balance‑sheet debts arising from recent court rulings, and approving the P.E.B.A. plan for removing architectural barriers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

Both meetings are part of routine municipal governance in the Campania region, focusing on local infrastructure, financial management and accessibility initiatives.
