Sorrento officials and ABBAB convene to fight illegal extra‑hotel rentals

The national president of ABBAB, Agostino Ingenito, together with regional delegate Ettore Pica, met on 31 July 2026 at the Sorrento city hall with the municipality’s tourism assessor Paola Di Leva and commerce assessor Vincenzo Ercolano. The dialogue focused on strengthening cooperation between the local administration and the hospitality association.

Both sides agreed to develop joint actions aimed at improving the quality of Sorrento’s tourist offer, safeguarding fair competition and consumer protection, and cracking down on abusive extra‑hotel accommodations. Topics also included better management of tourism taxes, sustainability of services, and enhancements to mobility, accessibility and public‑private transport supporting visitors. ABBAB, a long‑standing representative of the extra‑hotel sector, reiterated its role at regional and national levels and its recent entry into the regional observatory.
