Sorrento Peninsula traffic paralyzed by accident and weather

Severe traffic disruptions have paralyzed the Sorrento Peninsula following a three-car accident at Punta Scutolo on the SS145 highway. The collision, occurring between Vico Equense and Meta, has caused kilometer-long queues in both directions, affecting commuters and tourists traveling toward Sorrento and Naples.

In a separate but related incident involving the same regional traffic chaos, Carabinieri officers provided an emergency escort for a woman in labor. Amidst heavy rain and road blockages caused by bad weather and previous accidents, officers from the Sorrento and Castellammare di Stabia companies used their vehicles to clear a path through the congestion, allowing the woman to reach the hospital safely to give birth.
