Sorri Bauru celebrates 50 years of disability inclusion services

Sorri Bauru has marked 50 years of operation dedicated to the inclusion of people with disabilities. Founded in 1976 by a group of professionals led by sociologist Thomas Ferran Frist, the institution focuses on integrating individuals into the community through professionalized health, social assistance, and educational support.

Recently recognized as a social and human heritage of the state of São Paulo by the State Legislative Assembly, the organization has expanded its scope significantly. It currently serves individuals with physical, auditory, intellectual, and multiple disabilities, as well as those with neurodevelopmental disorders and autism. In 2025, driven by municipal resources, the entity surpassed 200,000 services provided for the first time in its history.
