Sorriso's GAFFFF Highlights Female Leadership in Brazilian Agribusiness

The Global Agribusiness Festival (GAFFFF) in Sorriso gathered leading women to discuss the rising role of females in Brazil's agribusiness sector. In the panel "Mulheres que Transformam o Agro," participants such as Andressa Biata, Cristiane Steinmetz and Teresa Vendramini—who presides over the Sociedade Rural Brasileira—debated representation, succession, entrepreneurship and decision‑making on farms and in industry bodies. The session, moderated by CS Group co‑founder Cristiane Santos, underscored how women are increasingly managing properties, shaping policies and guiding corporate strategy.

A concurrent "Palco Agroligadas" round‑table extended the conversation to public administration, emphasizing the need for women in political and municipal leadership. Speakers included Sorriso’s first lady and Women and Family secretary Mara Fernandes, social‑assistance secretary Daniela Marsola Stel, and other local officials. They highlighted barriers faced by women, the creation of support services such as Casa Achego, and the importance of inspiring a new generation to assume leadership roles in both the agro‑sector and public governance.
