Sortino's Corso Umberto Renovation Delayed, CNA Urges Faster Completion and Economic Support

The reconstruction of Corso Umberto in the historic centre of Sortino has exceeded the deadline set by the municipal administration. CNA Sortino, led by president Federica Mazzone, says the prolonged works hinder local businesses, limiting accessibility and customer flow. The association has asked the mayor and council for an updated, definitive schedule, acceleration of the TARI 2026 reduction already promised for affected shops, and swift approval of a municipal regulation to provide economic relief. CNA has supplied a draft of the regulation and stresses the need for prompt administrative procedures. Sebastiano Terranova, CNA’s delegated official, reiterated that enterprises need certainty to plan their activities and called for collaborative solutions to finish the project promptly.
