SOS Children's Villages Association calls for school child protection policies

The SOS Children's Villages Association has called for the immediate implementation of child protection policies in all schools to ensure a safe and rights-based educational environment. The association emphasized that while a cooperation protocol was signed in 2021 between the Ministry of National Education and Culture and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, these objectives have not yet been realized nationwide.

The association stated that implementing these policies is a responsibility rather than a choice, urging the restart of pilot programs and their expansion to all schools before the new academic year begins. The goal of these policies is to establish mechanisms for reporting, intervening, and tracking child neglect and abuse, while clarifying the responsibilities of school staff. The association stressed that safety systems must be established before risks emerge rather than in response to crises.
