Sosina reservoir in Jaworzno sees record summer visitors

The Sosina reservoir in Jaworzno has seen record-breaking visitor numbers this summer. According to officials from the Municipal Center of Culture and Sport (MCKiS) and emergency services, the site remains a highly popular and safe destination for recreation.

To enhance safety, new specialized equipment has been introduced, including a sonar capable of detecting individuals underwater at a range of up to 50 meters. Additionally, a newly constructed slipway has been implemented to facilitate the rapid launching of boats.

Looking toward future development, a proposal has been submitted to the Jaworzno city budget for 2027 to introduce ‘water cinema.’ Inspired by similar events at Lake Żywieckie, the concept would allow residents to watch outdoor film screenings from beaches, piers, kayaks, or SUP boards. The municipal office has referred the proposal to MCKiS for feasibility analysis.
