Sotaquí and Peralta host traditional religious and community festivities

The town of Sotaquí is preparing for the traditional Fiesta Chica del Niño Dios. The religious celebration includes a series of activities scheduled from August 28 to September 6, featuring pilgrims, families, and religious dances. The program includes the Novena, Eucharistic processions, and various masses. Key events include an infantil procession on September 4 and a central day on September 5 involving the Rosario, baptisms, and official greetings from religious dance groups at the town square and the Calvario.

In Peralta, the patron saint festivities continued with the celebration of Children's Day. During the event, Mayor Juan Carlos Castillo handed over the command staff to the newly appointed child mayor, Tristán Troyas Díaz, and child mayor, June Remón Asín. The nine-year-old officials, selected via a lottery, participated in traditional ceremonies including launching rockets and distributing candy before heading to the parish.
