Soterion SAP License Manager completes 100 FUE assessments

Soterion has announced that its SAP License Manager has completed 100 Full User Equivalent (FUE) assessments within one year of its launch. The milestone comes as organizations transition from SAP ECC to SAP Cloud ERP Private, a move that introduces the STAR measurement framework.

Under this new framework, FUE consumption is determined by assigned SAP authorizations rather than actual user activity. Because many legacy role designs were not optimized for this model, organizations often consume more FUEs than necessary. Soterion reported that its initial 100 assessments found that legacy SAP role designs typically overstated FUE requirements by approximately four times.

The SAP License Manager addresses this by analyzing actual authorization usage to provide metrics on current consumption, potential reductions through role remediation, and the minimum FUE requirement based on genuine user interaction.
