Sotiris Tsafoulias proposes 60-episode series based on ‘In Treatment’

Director Sotiris Tsafoulias is planning a major television project consisting of 60 episodes based on the international format ‘In Treatment’. This marks a significant shift from his previous shorter series, such as ‘Rififi’ and ‘Eteros Ego’.

A proposal for the production was submitted to ERT on July 21. However, the high production cost is reportedly a primary obstacle to approval. Media reports estimate the budget at approximately 250,000 euros per episode, which could bring the total cost to 15 million euros. Additionally, because the series is an adaptation of a foreign format, there may be limitations regarding the resale of the production to international markets.

While the proposal is with ERT, the broadcaster ALPHA is also reportedly showing interest in the project. As of now, no final agreement regarding the series' broadcaster has been announced.
