SOUEAST launches plug-in hybrid SUVs in Peru

SOUEAST has officially launched its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models, the S06 DM and S08 DM, in Peru. This expansion introduces a dual propulsion range—combustion and hybrid—to the brand's local lineup and marks a significant milestone for its growth in Latin America.

The introduction of hybrid technology addresses specific local challenges, including the demanding terrain of the Andes and high urban congestion. According to the TomTom Traffic Index 2026, Lima and Arequipa are among the most congested cities globally, with congestion levels of 69.3% and 69.5% respectively. PHEVs offer a solution by providing the power needed for long trips and difficult roads while maintaining efficiency in stop-and-go city traffic.

The S08 DM is a seven-seater urban SUV designed for families, featuring a 6.4 L heated and cooled refrigerator and a 3.3 kW external V2L discharge. It offers an NEDC electric autonomy of 107 km and a combined range of over 800 km. The S06 DM is a more compact, youth-oriented hybrid SUV equipped with a 1.5TD hybrid engine delivering 250 kW.
