Soufiane El-Faouzi updates fans after severe collision

Schalke 04 midfielder Soufiane El-Faouzi has shared photos on Instagram following a violent mid-air collision during a match against 1. FC Köln. The incident, which occurred in the 38th minute after a push from Köln's Said El-Mala, resulted in El-Faouzi suffering a broken nose and a laceration on his forehead.

El-Faouzi posted images showing significant swelling around his eye and his injured nose while in the locker room. A subsequent photo from the Knappschaft Klinik in Buer shows the player recovering after specialists successfully reset his nose. He captioned the update, “Nose straight again, alhamdulillah,” and expressed gratitude to the medical staff.

His teammate, Robin Gosens, also sustained two lacerations to his forehead during the same collision. Schalke coach Miron Muslic noted that both players were fortunate to avoid more severe injuries, though both are expected to be sidelined for a period.
