Soul de Brasileiro releases debut album “SOU” in Brazil
Brazilian trio Soul de Brasileiro launched their first album “SOU” on 29 July through the Toca Discos label, with worldwide distribution by Universal Music.
The record includes guest appearances by vocalist Paula Lima, trombonist Josiel Konrad and rapper Hiran, and a music video for the track “Oxum Rabane” was released alongside the album.
Formed by Negra Silva, José Junior and Ge Vieira, who grew up in the Vila Kennedy neighbourhood of Rio de Janeiro, the group blends soul, samba, MPB, jazz, funk and Afro‑Brazilian rhythms. Earlier singles such as “De Onde Eu Vim”, “Minha Vibe” and “Aí Tem Coisa” helped define their sound. Recording took place at the iconic Toca do Bandido studio, with artistic direction by Constança Scofield and production by Felipe Rodarte.
“When we started recording we realized some songs would fit the voice or instrument of artists we identified with,” said Negra Silva, explaining the choice of collaborators.
