Festa del Cinema di Roma 2026 announces program and star-studded lineup

The 21st edition of the Festa del Cinema di Roma is scheduled to take place from October 13 to 25, 2026. The festival aims to expand its presence throughout the city, moving beyond its traditional base at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone to become a more metropolitan event.

The program features over 150 titles from 55 countries, including the Progressive Cinema international competition, which highlights a significant female presence with six female directors among the 18 selected films. Notable international stars expected on the red carpet include Javier Bardem, Jenna Ortega, Julianne Moore, Jesse Eisenberg, Naomi Watts, Kim Kardashian, and Sandra Hüller.

Javier Bardem will receive a Career Award presented by director Paolo Sorrentino. One of the most anticipated premieres is Taika Waititi’s ‘Klara and the Sun’, starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams. The festival also emphasizes Italian cinema, opening with Paolo Genovese’s ‘Il rumore delle cose nuove’ and featuring various domestic productions and series.
