SourceNext launches free web version of classic typing game “Tokuda” for 30th anniversary

SourceNext, commemorating its 30th anniversary on 2 August 2026, released a browser‑based version of its long‑standing typing training software “Tokuda”. The free web game runs from 2 August to 31 August and features a timed competition called “Tokuda – Early Shooter Gunman Championship”, where players type romanized words that appear on targets within a 60‑second limit. Correct entries build combos and determine a four‑tier ranking system.

Participation is free, but entering the leaderboard and prize draws requires a SourceNext ID login. In addition to the online event, SourceNext will sell a downloadable version of “Tokuda” for 30 yen from 2 August to 4 August, accompanied by various promotional coupons and sales throughout the month.

The initiative revives the nostalgic western‑themed typing experience for both new and longtime users, combining free gameplay with limited‑time discounts.
