All Blacks defeat Springboks 33-16 in Johannesburg Test

The All Blacks defeated the Springboks 33-16 in the opening Test of a four-match series at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Despite South Africa leading 13-12 at halftime, New Zealand dominated the second half, scoring five tries to South Africa's one.

Key performers for New Zealand included Will Jordan, who scored two tries, and Josh Moorby, Fabian Holland, and Luke Jacobson, who each added one. The All Blacks' victory was bolstered by a strong second-half performance and effective substitutions in the front row, which helped stabilize their scrum after early struggles.

South Africa's performance was hampered by disciplinary issues, as Marco van Staden and Cobus Reinach received yellow cards, leaving the Springboks with only 13 players. Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus noted that the team needed to correct numerous errors to remain competitive in the series. The win also moves New Zealand to the top of the world rugby rankings.
