South Africa announces national teams for 2026 Lifesaving World Championships
Lifesaving South Africa has announced the national teams selected to represent the host nation at the 2026 Lifesaving World Championships. The event is scheduled to take place in Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay) at Kings Beach and the Newton Park Swimming Pool.
The national squads consist of both Open and Youth divisions, featuring a mix of veteran competitors and emerging talent. The Open division will be led by captains Joshua Fenn and Nicola Harcus. Notable returning athletes include world champion Eve Abrahams and Matthew Coetzee, who previously secured the Men’s Surf Ski world title.
Craig Van Rooyen, Director of Sport for Lifesaving South Africa, congratulated the athletes, coaches, and support staff on their selection and commitment to the sport.
