South Africa celebrates Women's Month with STEAM awards and museum wellness programme

Tactile Technologies continued its partnership with the Womandla Foundation as the Technology Category Sponsor for the 6th Annual Women in STEAM Awards, held on 27 August 2026 at the Avianto Wedding Venue in Muldersdrift. The event recognised women breaking barriers across science, technology, engineering, energy, AI, arts and mathematics, and the proceeds support the foundation’s Womandla Reskilling Revolution Africa programme that delivers digital and employability training.

On 8 August 2026, Iziko Museums of South Africa organised a full‑day Women’s Day experience titled “Izi‑Women 2026: Honouring the Legacy. Empowering the Future”. The programme featured a free outdoor yoga and mindfulness session, a “Women’s Long Table Dialogue” chaired by former Public Protector Professor Thuli Madonsela with a panel of media and business leaders, and an evening musical tribute on the historic courtyard of the Iziko Old Town House.

Both events form part of South Africa’s Women’s Month celebrations, aiming to highlight women’s achievements, foster wellbeing, and inspire future generations.
