South Africa prepares for 2026 Lifesaving World Championships
Preparations are accelerating for the Lifesaving World Championships 2026, scheduled to begin on 25 November in Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa. With 100 days remaining, host nation South Africa is entering the final phase of readiness as international teams finalize their athlete rosters.
Several nations, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands, and Great Britain, have confirmed their squads. Australia has unveiled a 24-strong combined national and youth team in an effort to defend the titles it secured at the 2024 championships. South African competitors, such as Nicholas Pretorius and Zoe Beresford, are among those preparing to represent the host nation.
