South Africa selects squad for Nations Championship clash against Italy

South Africa has announced a 37-player squad for the upcoming Nations Championship window, which includes a match against Italy on November 7 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Head coach Rassie Erasmus has named six debutants—Yaqeen Ahmed, Luan Giliomee, Markus Muller, Emmanuel Tshituka, Riley Norton, and Sebastian de Klerk—to build squad depth.

The Springboks will be without five key players due to injuries: Cheslin Kolbe (mandible fracture), Eben Etzebeth (leg), André Esterhuizen (ankle), Handré Pollard (thigh), and Deon Fourie (thigh).

The match in Turin marks the first home fixture for Italy in the new competition under coach Gonzalo Quesada. Following the encounter with South Africa, Italy is scheduled to play Argentina in Genoa on November 14 and Fiji in Udine on November 21.
