South Africa weather forecast for Heritage Day long weekend

South Africa is expecting a mixed spring weather forecast during the Heritage Day long weekend. While many regions will experience warm conditions, several provinces are at risk of showers and thunderstorms.

In Gauteng, Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Soweto are expected to see mostly sunny conditions with temperatures reaching the upper 20s. Pretoria may see highs between 29°C and 31°C. KwaZulu-Natal will also experience warm weather, though afternoon showers and thunderstorms are possible in areas like Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

Other regions, including Limpopo, Free State, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and the Eastern Cape, are forecasted to encounter isolated showers and thundershowers. The Western Cape is noted as a primary area to monitor for potential severe weather. Additionally, high UVB indices in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, and the Western Cape suggest a need for sun protection during outdoor activities.
