South Africa weather: Thunderstorms forecast for interior provinces

Various regions across South Africa are expecting a mix of weather conditions. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast for much of the interior, including Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, the North West, and the Free State.

Gauteng is expected to see cloudy and cool conditions, with Johannesburg reaching a high of 22°C and Pretoria ranging between 10°C and 23°C. Following a recent period of heavy rain and cold that caused power disruptions in Pretoria due to substation damage, temperatures in the province are expected to rise, potentially reaching 28°C later in the week.

In the Western and Eastern Cape, conditions will be generally fine to partly cloudy, with some morning fog possible. The Northern Cape is expected to be drier with temperatures ranging from cool to hot, while KwaZulu-Natal may experience isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
