South Africa wins T20I Tri-Series after defeating Zimbabwe

South Africa won the T20I Tri-Series title in Windhoek, Namibia, after defeating Zimbabwe by 48 runs in the final. After winning the toss and electing to bat, South Africa posted a total of 205 for 5 in their 20 overs. Jordan Hermann led the scoring with a rapid 53 off 29 balls, supported by opening stands from Connor Esterhuizen and contributions from Dewald Brevis and Rubin Hermann.

In response, Zimbabwe struggled early, falling to 46 for 4 during the Powerplay. While Brad Evans provided a significant resistance with an unbeaten 56 off 31 balls—setting a record as the first player from a Test-playing nation to score a fifty while batting at number 6 or lower in a T20I final—the team was eventually bowled out for 157 in the 18th over.

South African bowlers Bjorn Fortuin and Duan Jansen were instrumental in the victory, taking three wickets each. Dewald Brevis also achieved a personal milestone during the match, tying with JP Duminy as the joint fourth-highest six-hitter for South Africa in T20Is. Following the tournament, South Africa announced that Matthew Breetzke and Corbin Bosch would join the squad for an upcoming ODI series against Namibia to replace injured players Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Andile Simelane.
