South African authorities detain five foreigners in Mpumalanga operation

Authorities in South Africa's Mpumalanga province conducted a large-scale operation targeting illegal immigration and illicit trade. The crackdown, involving police and customs officials, resulted in the detention of five foreign nationals, including three Mozambican citizens and two Ethiopian citizens.

During inspections in the Tonga and Nkomazi areas, officials closed 56 commercial establishments for failing to comply with legal regulations. The operation also led to the seizure of 910 bags of illegally traded coal and more than 18,000 counterfeit items.
